文森．梵谷
1853年3月30日～1890年7月29日

荷蘭後印象派畫家。他是表現主義的先驅，其作品如《星夜》《向日葵》等已躋身全球最知名藝術作品的行列。在2004年票選最偉大的荷蘭人中他排名第十，僅次於17世紀的畫家林布蘭。梵谷是在27歲才開始畫家生涯，在他生前的最後10年間創作了2100幅畫作，最著名作品多半在最後兩年問世。

Vincent van Gogh

As a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter, Vincent van Gogh is a pioneer of Expressionism. His works such as “Starry Night” and “Sunflowers” are among the best-known works of art in the world. In 2004, he was ranked tenth among the greatest Dutchmen of all time, after the 17th century painter Rembrandt. Van Gogh began his career as a painter at the age of 27 and painted 2,100 paintings in the last 10 years of his life. Most of his famous works are created in the last two years.
