法國畫家，野獸派的創始人及主要代表人物，也是位雕塑家及版畫家。野獸派主張印象主義的理論，促成20世紀第一次的藝術運動。善用大膽且平面的色調，不拘的線條就是馬諦斯的作畫風格。畫面風趣的結構、鮮明的色彩及輕鬆的主題就是令他成名的特點，也使其成為現代藝術中最重要的人物之一。

Henri Matisse was a French painter, the founder and main representative figure of the Fauvism movement, as well as a sculptor and printmaker. The Fauvism led to the first art movement of the 20th century. Matisse’s style is characterized by bold, flat colors and unconventional lines. His playful structure, bright colors and lighthearted subject are the characteristics that made him famous and one of the most important figures in modern art.
